AEI Compounds was originally formed in
1983 and is today a subsidiary of the international
group TT electronics plc; a UK based FTSE Corporation
who have manufacturing facilities in more than
18 countries around the globe.

We are approximately 25 miles to the south east
of London, and the site includes our offices,
technical and development facilities and manufacturing.
Development Resources
AEI Compounds has a very substantial development
resource with well-equipped laboratories, which
include a range of Compounding machines and a
comprehensive range of physical testing and analytical
equipment.
Product applications
We are proud to have been at the forefront of
the development and manufacture of specialised
crosslinkable and thermoplastic polymer compounds
for many years, initially for wire, cable and
hot water pipe applications. The knowledge and
skills gained in those areas have allowed us to
diversify into other sectors, developing materials
for Injection, Blow Moulding, Film Production
and Heat shrinkable products, amongst many others.
Applications in the area of Medical equipment
are also within the scope of our future developments.
The broad portfolio of products has taken AEI
Compounds into a variety of different OEM applications.
As a prime example, the high temperature insulation
developments for both halogenated and non-halogenated
applications within the automotive industry, has
led to our materials being chosen for ‘under
the bonnet’ applications, by many of the
worlds leading motor manufacturers. This is just
one example of our extensive range of purpose-designed
products that we have developed in recent years.
We are justifiably pleased with our success, in
achieving significant property enhancement in
both thermoplastic and crosslinkable products,
by specialist compounding, based on reaction technologies
and the judicious application of a variety of
additives.

Capability
We are delighted to boast an outstanding
manufacturing facility, which allows for considerable
flexibility with polymer and additive use. (The
product range complies with the most demanding
national and international standards and we are
fully certified to BS EN ISO 9001 under certificate
number 35470). We have a range of Compounding
machinery including Ko Kneaders twin and single
screw units with fully integrated feed system
and process control.

both compounding process and formulation improvements,
as well as the development of new materials for
the next generation of Polymer Compounds.
